FAQs

We want your experience at Salsal to be as smooth and enjoyable as possible. Here are answers to some common questions and a quick rundown of our key policies. If you’re curious about anything not covered here, just reach out – we’re happy to help!

  • Not at all! Our classes are designed for all skill levels. Beginners are absolutely welcome (in fact, we love newbies!). Each instructor will tailor the session to fit beginners, intermediate, and advanced students alike. Whether it’s your first time holding a ballet barre, doing a downward dog, or shaping clay, we’ll guide you step by step. So come as you are, and get ready to learn at your own pace.

  • Wear something comfortable that you can move in. For ballet or yoga, workout attire or even a t-shirt and leggings are fine (ballet shoes or socks for ballet, barefoot or grip socks for yoga). For pottery and painting, don’t worry about mess – we provide aprons, but feel free to wear clothes you won’t mind getting a bit of clay or paint on (getting messy is part of the fun!). No need to bring equipment or materials – we’ve got you covered. We provide yoga mats, ballet barres, art supplies, clay, tools, and even a kiln for firing pottery. Just bring yourself and your enthusiasm! (Oh, and a water bottle is always a good idea to stay hydrated.)

  • Yes! All necessary materials and tools are provided by Salsal for every class. That means paint, canvases, clay, pottery wheels, kilns, yoga mats, ballet props – everything is on hand for you to use at no extra charge. We also have lockers and cubbies to store your personal items while you’re in class. Just show up ready to create or move, and leave the rest to us.

  • It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

  • Absolutely – it’s yours! Anything you craft in our Pottery or Painting classes is yours to take home and cherish. After a pottery class, we’ll handle the firing and finishing of your piece in our kiln (which takes a bit of time). You can pick up your finished pottery once it’s ready (usually within a week or two). For paintings, you’ll take your canvas home at the end of the session. We do kindly ask that you collect any finished pottery or artwork within a couple of weeks, as our studio has limited storage – plus, we want you to enjoy your creation! (Unclaimed pieces after about 2-4 weeks might be repurposed or donated.)

  • We understand life gets busy. You can reschedule a class up to 12 hours before the start time without any penalty – just hop onto our booking system or give us a call, and we’ll find a new slot that works for you. This helps us keep classes full and lively. If something comes up last-minute (within 12 hours of the class), contact us anyway – while we can’t guarantee a reschedule in that short window, we’ll do our best to accommodate you. For workshops or special events, we might have a slightly longer notice period (24 hours or more) for rescheduling, which will be noted in the event details.

  • In line with most creative studios, all payments are non-refundable. This is because we cap our class sizes and plan resources for each attendee. However, we’re flexible in ensuring you get the experience you paid for – if you can’t make it to a class, please use the rescheduling option (see above). For any packages or memberships, we don’t offer refunds once purchased, but… we do have some flexibility: If you have a monthly membership and need to take a break, you can pause your membership (for instance, if you’re traveling or have an emergency) – just let us know. Pausing can usually be done for a short period without losing the remainder of your paid time, as long as it’s within the terms of our agreement. We want you to enjoy your time at Salsal, so talk to us if you have concerns, and we’ll work with you.

  • Our monthly memberships (single-discipline or full access) require a minimum commitment of three months. This helps both you (to truly see progress and benefit from regular practice) and us (to manage class sizes). After three months, you can continue month-to-month or cancel anytime with a notice before the next billing cycle. As mentioned, you may also request a one-time pause if needed. Memberships allow you to attend unlimited classes in the scope of your plan, so they’re really the best value if you’re coming often. We’ll provide a simple agreement when you sign up, and there are no sneaky fees – just the flat monthly rate.

  • Yes, we do! If you prefer one-on-one instruction or have a small group (for a birthday, team-building, etc.), we offer private sessions for ballet and yoga, and private workshops for pottery and painting. These can be scheduled separately at times that work for you. Just contact our front desk or send us an email to discuss what you’re looking for. We also occasionally run outdoor yoga classes when the weather is nice, and host special events like art jams and dance recitals – keep an eye on our announcements for those opportunities to do something a little different.

  • Salsal is located in Sharjah, Aljada (Tiraz 3) – a lively new community space that’s easy to get to and has plenty of parking. You can find us on Google Maps by searching “Salsal Sharjah” or using the pin on our Contact page. If you need to reach us, feel free to call at [phone number] or email [email address]. You’re also welcome to drop by the studio during our working hours to say hello or take a tour. We’re open 7 days a week, and our class schedule runs throughout the day (mornings, afternoons, and evenings) to fit your timetable.

  • Booking a class or signing up is super easy. You can use our online booking system on the website – just click any of the “Book Now” buttons (you won’t miss them!) and follow the steps. You’ll create a quick profile, choose your class or membership, and check out securely. Alternatively, you can call or visit us in person and we’ll get you set up. For memberships or class packages, we’ll help make sure you get the best option for your needs. And remember, your first class is free if you’re new – so don’t hesitate to schedule that trial class!
